Join us for Herb Day 2018 - Celebrating the Year of Hops! Sunday July 15, 2018 10 AM - 4 PM at Rodgers Ranch Heritage Center, 315 Cortsen Rd., Pleasant Hill, CA (off of Grayson Rd. between Pleasant Hill Rd. & Taylor Blvd.) This fun, free family event will include presentations, exhibits, activities for all ages, garden walks, herbal waters and teas to sample and much more. This year we celebrate our herb of the year – Hops. Our presentations include, “Grow Your Own Tea Garden” with Rose Loveall Sale of Morningsun Herb Farms, “Smudging with White Sage” with Patrice Hanlon Horticultural Specialist, “Herbs for Digestive Health”, with Lisa Mary Maryott, a graduate of Ohlone Herbal Center, and “Making Beer at Home”. Founded in 1953, the Northern California Unit of the Herb Society of America is an active group with a diverse member base with various levels of knowledge. At the monthly meetings, which are always held at Rodgers Ranch in Pleasant Hill, members explore topics from horticultural aspects, medicinal uses, culinary uses, harvesting and preserving, and more.
